What Can I Do With A Major In Industrial Technology?

Industrial Technology encompasses several specific programs designed to prepare students for technology-oriented supervisory, middle management and leadership positions. The programs respond to an increasing industry demand for highly qualified personnel who have a combination of technical and managerial skills. Therefore, this study includes a comprehensive knowledge of industrial processes and applied technologies, in addition to a background in general education.

Graphics Technology students focus on electronic communication and paper technology. The program covers graphic design, photography, press and post-press operations as well as the computer applications and pre-press activities. Networking Technology spans career paths involving all levels of information technology including both hardware and software. Electro-Mechanical Technology prepares students for middle-management in the areas of production automation, technical sales and distribution, project management and the supervision of electro-mechanical systems. The Environmental & Occupational Safety program is designed to prepare students to be professionals skilled in the development of accident prevention programs in the workplace. The Manufacturing program is designed to prepare students for the ever-changing world of manufacturing. The program helps students to become skilled in new advances in technology, organizational structures and the challenges of a complex global economy. Technology Management was created to help students customize a plan of study that incorporates management courses and a self-selected core of technology courses in order to meet the demand for skilled workers who are diverse in their skills and abilities.
