Computer Engineering Technology
What Can I Do With A Major In Computer Engineering Technology?
Computer engineering technology is the study of the design and development of hardware and software, computer troubleshooting/repair skills, and network installation management skills.
The computer engineering technology program offers broadly based learning and in-depth knowledge in computer related systems and devices. In a hands-on environment, students explore hardware and software aspects of the computer. In addition students gain knowledge in the state-of-the-art technology in the area of wired and wireless network communication, engineering design, advanced PC operating systems, internet technologies, and computer programming. This program is designed to prepare students to take the industry-based certification exams and to adapt the rapidly changing high-tech industry.
Since computers and networks have been two of the leading technologies driving engineering job markets, graduates with competencies in software development and a sound knowledge of hardware and engineering processes will continue to be highly sought. Graduates of the program are well suited for positions that are highly paid and in high demand, and are also well prepared to further their education in a variety of specialized areas.
