   1.     Announcements:
a.    AAUP: President Gendron announced that the Faculty Social is scheduled for 12/9/08 in the Connecticut Room from 4-7 pm.
b.   SUOAF-AFSCME: No announcements
c.    President of the Senate: President Barrington announced the following:
·        Encourage the membership to participate in the Employee Satisfaction Survey that will remain online until. 12/12/08.

2.    Minutes: Senator Karpuk moved the approval of the November 10, 2008 minutes. (Passed)

3. Â Â Â Reports:
       a. Committee on Committees: Senator Cohen presented the report and moved that the Senate    accept the proposals for by-law revisions to the P & T Committee and the Academic Standards  Committee. Senator Spector moved to separate Part 1 (Promotion and Tenure Committee) from   Part 2 (Academic Standards Committee. (Passed)
       Promotion and Tenure Committee By-Law proposed revision:
                       1. A change to the P&T Committee by-laws, section 4b. The section currently reads:
                       4b. Nominations shall be solicited and elections shall be held as soon as practicable in                          the fall semester, with elections to be completed no later than the end of September.
                       We propose changing this to:
           4b. Nominations shall be solicited and elections shall be held as soon as practicable in  the fall semester, with elections to be completed no later than October 31. (Passed)
Academic Standards Committee By-Law proposed revision:
           Senator Spector moved to remove the words, “non-voting” from student membership. A hand count was taken. (Passed)
The Senate approved the remainder of the proposed changes to the Academic  Standards Committee By-Laws, (Passed)
b. Information Technology Committee: Jason Jones presented the committee report and moved that the recommendations be adopted by the Senate. Senator Abadiano moved to remove I.B from consideration and send back to the committee for further consideration. (Passed) The senate approved the remainder of the report. (Passed)
c. Graduate Studies Report : was deferred until the meeting of 12/8/08.
d. Sustainability Council : Senator Adams presented a brief update on the work of the council. A resolution concerning campus sustainability was presented and (Passed.)

4. Â Â Â Unfinished Business:
       a. The Appointment of an Ad Hoc Committee to Develop Recommendations for Promotion and  Tenure Policy for Librarians, Coaches and Counselors was postponed until the meeting of 12/8/08.

5.    New Business:
a. Hardship DEC Department of Marketing: was moved by Senator Abadiano and approved by the senate (Passed).
b. President Barrington charged the Appointments and Personnel Committee with the following searches:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Library Director
                         Vice President Student Affairs
                         Campus Medical Director
