- Announcements
President Craine (Senate) mentioned that the Senate Steering Committee had participated in interviewing the candidates for the University's presidential job opening. He was pleased that many faculty members also attended the open meetings with the candidates and provided feedback to the advisory committee.
President White (AAUP) wanted a discussion next Spring on the relationship between the Senate and the AAUP so the two could work more closely on issues of common concern and interest. She also indicated that this year the December AAUP holiday social would not clash with the President's social.

b. Ad-hoc Committee on Academic Integrity
University Judicial officer Chris Dukes provided an overview to his work and requested faculty cooperation with his office in investigating student misconduct as it related to academic integrity. He provided statistics on disciplinary sanctions in 2003. The Judicial officer has no say on a student's grades, has to comply with regulations governing due process but cannot share all the details of any sanction with faculty because of confidentiality rules. Less than 5% of his investigation has been related to academic misconduct. Several senators made comments and raised questions. A request was made that he provide a report to the Senate at the end of each semester.
c. Ad-hoc Committee on Constitution/Bylaws
Sen. Terezakis (who serves on the committee together with Sen. Crundwell and Parliamentarian O'Connell requested recommendations/suggestions from the entire faculty for changes in the Senate constitution/bylaws by December 20. A report will be forthcoming in early Spring 2005.
- Motion to adjourn (Dowty/Osterreich): 4.15 p.m - passed unanimously
Respectfully submitted
