   1.     Announcements:
           a. AAUP: President Gendron announced an open meeting scheduled for 2/24/09 at 10 am to  discuss the State budget with union leadership, Lobby Day is scheduled for 3/18/09, pleasecontact Ellen Benson if interested in participating, and Family Day with the Rock Cats is scheduled for 5/8/09.
          b.  SUOAF-AFSCME: Senator Bonvicini announced that four training workshops remained in the semester for members.
           c. President of the Senate: President Barrington announced that she and Provost Lovitt will be   jointly submitting a monthly email detailing ongoing projects in an effort to improve methods of communication to the members.
           d. Committee on Committees: Senator Cohen announced the Faculty Senate Committees  web pages. He encouraged members to review the information and contact him with any  additions, particularly mission statements and committee chairs, or corrections.
           e. Elections Committee: Senator Glagovich stated that spring elections will be upon us soon and a call for nominations will be sent out. He encouraged members to serve on committees.
    2.    Minutes: The minutes from February 9, 2009 were approved. Senator Spector moved to adopt.  (Passed)

3. Â Â Â Reports:
a. Update: Ad Hoc Committee Center for Student Success (J. Mulrooney) This item was (Deferred) until the next regular meeting.
b. UPBC: Proposed Revision to University Mission and Vision Statement. Larry Grasso presented the proposed mission, elements of distinction and vision developed by the committee. The proposed revisions were discussed. (Passed)
 4.    Unfinished Business:
a. . Process for Administrative Decision Making in Consultation with the Senate: Senator Spector introduced a proposed resolution intended to reaffirm the role of the Senate in shared governance. After a discussion it was (Deferred) until the next meeting of the Senate.
b. Curriculum Committee:
·        Senator Karpuk presented the Course Deletion List. After amendments were taken from the floor, the list was approved. (Passed)
·        Review of Outcomes and Objectives of General Education was proposed to be completed every four years instead of the current two year review. This item was originally considered in the Fall of 2008 and deferred. (Passed)
5. Â Â Â New Business:
       a. Confucius Institute: President Barrington reviewed the proposal and discussed the      determination that the Institute did not fall under the purview of the Senate. Her letter in that regard is included here.
       b. AAUP Resolution: Paul Petterson presented a resolution from the AAUP to the Faculty Senate            relating to the composition of the Center for Student Success.
       c. CSU E-Mail Policy: President Barrington invited Robert Cernock to discuss the history of the  policy and implications for faculty. Mr. Cernock emphasized that e-mail is an official method of  communication but not the exclusive method. A number of questions were answered from the       floor.
