- Â Announcements
- AAUP President Michael Gendron announced the upcoming April 30Â chapter meeting and the Rock Cats Family night.
- SUOAF-AFSCME member Liz Hicks announced May 1 joint meeting with CCSU-AAUP , as well as thanks for the Employee Appreciation Week activities.
- Senate President Tim Craine reminded senators that the last May 12 Senate meeting will be held in Founders Hall at 1 pm.
- Senator Jones moved the approval of the April 14, 2008 minutes: Passed.
3. Unfinished Business: None
4. New Business: a) Elections Committee held run-off elections for certain Faculty committees, the results of which will be announced May 12.
b) Approval of May undergraduate and graduate school candidates for graduation:
          Dean Mitch Sakofs moved the acceptance of the Spring 2008 undergraduate candidates for graduation from the School of Education and Professional Studies: Approved.  Â

     Associate Dean Shojai moved the acceptance of the Spring 2008 undergraduate candidates for graduation from the School of Business: Approved.
     Dean Zdzislaw Kremens moved the acceptance of the Spring 2008 undergraduate candidates for graduation from the School of Engineering and Technology: Approved.
Provost Lovitt moved the acceptance of the Spring 2008 undergraduate candidates for graduation from the School of Arts and Sciences: Approved
     Associate Dean Drina Lynch moved the acceptance of the Spring 2008 candidates for graduation from the Graduate School: Approved.
c)  Chair Glynis Fitzgerald moved five items from the  Graduate Studies Committee report, concerning Math requirements, International Studies admissions requirements, comprehensive exam limits and the posting of comprehensive exam results on transcripts, and the requirement for UAs to maintain certain GPA standards: all five Approved.
d) Michael Gendron for CCSU-AAUP, reported that nine departments had submitted their P&T departmental guidelines to the AAUP for review and that certain contractual inconsistencies were emerging.
e) The ad hoc Retention and Graduation Council presented the proposal for an early alert program. Senator Hicks moved the following:
Resolved, that the Faculty Senate supports the creation of a pilot Early Academic Warning program, as outlined in the draft distributed to senators today. The Faculty Senate will review the program again in Spring 2009: Approved.
f) The Elections Committee moved that, given the tie between two candidates for the Academic Integrity Committee, both may serve: Passed.
