Summary for 2006-2007

• There were three cases where the President disagreed with the P&T Committee.  All three cases involved males.
• The President did not recommend one promotion that had been recommended by the DEC, Dean, and P&T Committee.
• The President asked the Promotion and Tenure Committee for input on all three cases where he disagreed with the recommendation.
• The Promotion and Tenure Committee did not recommend six tenure applications.  None of the six were penultimate year tenure applications.  The P&T Committee debated this issue at length and felt it was important not to usurp the promotion and tenure discussions taking place in the Senate and AAUP.  However, the P&T Committee recommends that this issue be further discussed prior to the review of 2007-2008 applications.

• There was one case where a candidate was recommended by the DEC, Dean, and P&T Committee but not recommended by the Provost (a male who was asking for promotion to associate professor). 
• The Provost asked the Promotion and Tenure Committee for input on all cases where he disagreed with the recommendation.
• Promotion and Tenure statistics could not be summarized by race/ethnicity based on the small number of non-Caucasian applicants.  The table below provides the summary of applicants' race/ethnicity.
