| Alumna Takes the Stage: Megan Clark Torrey ’96 Inspires Graduates at Winter Commencement

Megan Clark Torrey ’96, Chief Executive Officer of the Connecticut World Affairs Council, delivered the keynote address at Central’s Winter Commencement Ceremony last Saturday. A proud first-generation college graduate, Megan, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Connecticut World Affairs Council, shared how Central opened doors that changed the course of her life and career. She reminded graduates that meaningful change is not only made by figures in history books. It is made by individuals who step forward when opportunity calls. She said "The degree you are receiving is not just a symbol of your hard work. It is your foundation—your credibility, your expertise, and your launchpad. It gives you both the knowledge and the wisdom to go into the world and create change. Every one of you has that power." Inspired by this graduating class, Megan encouraged them to embrace the immense opportunities ahead as they enter a rapidly changing world, one she is confident they are ready to lead. Thank you, Megan, for sharing your story and for inspiring the Class of 2025.

"Central has done a wonderful job staying in touch with me after graduation," Ed shares. "I've felt that ongoing connection for over two decades now. Looking ahead, I would like my estate to continue that commitment and connection to Central, giving back to the community that has meant so much to me and helping future students experience that same meaningful support."...
