Central is proud to celebrate Dr. Denis M. Medeiros ’74 and his wife Susan, whose generosity has established the Denis and Susan Medeiros Graduate Research Fund, a new endowed fund that will empower future generations of graduate researchers in the field of Biology.

CCSU Alumni Association Board of Directors: Call for 2026 Nominations

Do you know an outstanding alumni leader? The CCSU Alumni Association is seeking alumni with a strong commitment to Central to help lead the association and university into the future.

The CCSU Alumni Association Board is now accepting nominations for director positions. The term of office is three years and commences on July 1, 2026. If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else, please submit a brief email with why you believe the nominee would be a good candidate or why you are interested to janet_miani@ccsualumni.onmicrosoft.com.  Please obtain permission before nominating someone.

Nominations are open through Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

Alumni who serve on the Board of Directors are proud to represent more than 106,000 alumni and oversee Association policy decisions, program planning, implementation, and evaluation. They endeavor to engage alumni, invest in students, strengthen the university, and partner with others to create a lasting and meaningful Central experience for all alumni. 

Board members actively participate in five board meetings a year, work in committees, serve as ambassadors and advocates for Central and the Alumni Association and donate to the University.

Qualifications

  • Active membership is held by those who are graduates of Central or its predecessors and who have donated to the university this year.
  • Nominees must qualify for Active status and be willing to encourage philanthropy within the alumni community.
  • Demonstrated volunteer leadership, collaboration, initiatives, and follow-through.
  • Have relevant Central or other organization board/committee/volunteer experience (for-profit/nonprofit).
  • Analyze and ask questions at a strategic level; provide and seek constructive feedback; exhibit active listening skills.
  • Be willing to seek and gain consensus and consider different viewpoints and perspectives.
